Adult Day Health Services
Lifesteps has been providing adult day care services since 1988 through Lifesteps Adult Day Health Services, a medically-monitored, home-like service. As the cost of assisted living facilities, skilled care and nursing home placement continues to rise, Lifesteps day care program is an affordable option offered at a fraction of the price.
Benefits for the participant in day care can include longer independence for the adult who may not need 24/7 care, slower deterioration, companionship, socialization and improvement in individual function. The program can delay placement for assisted living, skilled care, or nursing homes and provide a sense of peace and respite for caregivers and family members.
Lifesteps Adult Day Health Service is an Enhanced Program provider, meeting all requirements of the Center for Medicaid Services. As an Enhanced Program, Lifesteps provides:
- An on-site Registered Nurse
- Nutritious Lunch and Snacks
- Extended Hours of Service
- Personal Care Services such as Bathing
- Staff-to-Client Ratio of 1:5
Open weekdays from 7 am to 6 pm, the program provides individualized care through socialization, mental stimulation, medication management, balanced and nutritious lunches and snacks, as well as daily exercise.
Because Lifesteps offers programs and services for all generations, intergenerational activities are planned with the children from Lifesteps Early Education Center. Students and clients enjoy holidays together with festive activities like visits from Santa, sharing Valentines, Easter with the Easter Bunny and more.
Adult Day Health Services has a specially designed outdoor secured porch space giving participants an opportunity to participate in gardening activities and enjoy the sounds and laughter from Lifesteps Child Care children in the adjoining outdoor play area.
Hourly costs are based on the level of care needed. Financial assistance may be available through Area Agency on Aging and other resources.
Lifesteps Adult Day Health Services is available to seniors 60 years of age or older. FREE 4-hour visits and tours are recommended and can be scheduled by calling 724-283-1010.
