This holiday season, we invite you to join us in lighting the way for those who need it most. Your gift will help us provide life-changing programs and services, ensuring no one is left behind on their journey.
Together, we can make dreams come true for children stepping into their futures, families seeking guidance, individuals with disabilities, and seniors cherishing their golden years.
A Father’s Journey Through Lifesteps Child Check Program
A single father, overwhelmed by concerns about his young son’s development and lacking transportation, found support through Lifesteps Child Check. With help from his parents, he scheduled a private screening to address learning delays, preschool options, and possible signs of autism. During the appointment, his son received a comprehensive developmental and behavioral assessment, and he received compassionate guidance and connections to local preschool and transportation resources. He left not just with information, but with renewed confidence and hope. Thanks to Lifesteps Child Check, this family now has clarity, support, and a brighter path forward.
A gift of $50 can help provide a Free developmental screening for one child.
A gift of $500 can help provide screenings for a classroom of 10 children.
Compassionate Family Care
A couple who lost their home arrived in Indiana County with nothing but desperation. While visiting a food bank, they met a Lifesteps Family Resource Specialist from the Family Care Mobile Resource Program. Trained to listen, engage, and connect people with the help they need, the Family Resource Specialist listened with compassion as the family shared their story. She was able to connect them to vital supports. What began as a search for food became a turning point, giving them direction, resources, and renewed hope. Lifesteps Family Care Mobile Resource Program continues to meet people where they are, offering guidance that helps families rebuild their lives.
A gift of $50 can help provide resources to support families.
Trusted Support for Adults with Disabilities
Amber, a friendly and determined young woman with an Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, moved into a Lifesteps Community Home in 2021 as her support needs grew. In 2022, she joined Lifesteps Transition Program, where she built daily living, communication, and pre-vocational skills through hands-on training and community job experiences. Her confidence and assessment scores soared. With help from Lifesteps Employment Services, Amber secured a job as a Dietary Aide in March 2024. She continues to excel in her role, increasing her independence and showcasing the power of the right supports and opportunities. Amber often shares, “I love my job because I love helping people.”

Keeping Seniors Safe and Engaged
Debbie moved to Butler to care for her recently widowed 93-year-old mother. She was faced with two urgent needs: finding the right place for her
mother, Jane, so that she could return to work, and support in learning how to serve as her mother’s caregiver. Debbie attended a Lifesteps Caregiver Support Group meeting and found Lifesteps Adult Day Health Services environment to be homelike and warm. After Debbie and Jane experienced a delightful visit, meeting other participants and staff, Jane enrolled two days per week.
She enjoys the hospitality and has made several new friends. Jane regularly expressed her appreciation by saying, “I am so thankful.” She looks forward to getting dressed and ready for the program.
