Educational Improvement Tax Program

Invest in Their Future

Did you know that businesses in Pennsylvania can redirect their state tax dollars to support education in their local community?

Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program, which is administered by the Department of Community and Economic  Development, enables businesses to receive tax credits when making contributions to an approved educational organization, like Lifesteps, at little or no cost to them.

Businesses who participate in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program receive up to a 100% tax credit when making contributions to organizations that provide Pre-K (Preschool) Scholarships for low and middle income children and/or up to a 90% tax credit for contributions supporting educational programs or scholarships for students in grades K-12.

Lifesteps is approved to receive EITC donations as both a:

Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization (PKSO)
Contributions to Lifesteps provide life-changing, need‑based scholarships to children in our area. Research shows that the benefits of high quality pre‑kindergarten programs extend far beyond the child, impacting the entire community — reducing long‑term costs for special education, public assistance, prisons, and health care.

Educational Improvement Organization (EIO)
Contributions to Lifesteps are used to support innovative education enrichment programs and/or vocational Skills training for students in grades K-12, including students with intellectual/developmental disabilities until the age of 21.

Your investment can help build brighter futures for children, teens, and young adults.
