Adults with Special Needs Services
Adult Training Facilities
Lifesteps offers two types of adult training facilities or day programs in five western Pennsylvania counties which include: Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Indiana and Washington Counties. Our day programs provide support for both the individual and their families by teaching ways to support challenging behaviors that will foster functional community living and increase independence in their home or residential facility.
A dedicated team of professionals, including instructors, aides, and program specialists work with each individual to help them develop self-sufficiency in daily living skills, socialization, and pre-vocational skills through community relationships.
Individuals learn initiative, resourcefulness, and self-reliance by association with typical peers and other participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the program. The program also focuses on skill development to teach individuals how to protect themselves against neglect abuse or exploitation.
Participants must be diagnosed with an intellectual/developmental disability to attend.

In a Mother's Words...
"[ATF] gives [my son] the opportunity to be away from family for a while and with friends. We are so appreciative of the new building, staff, and activities that are being done."
